With installation of ozone system, consequently, ozone can inhibit corrosion, scale, fouling and slime to increase efficiency and lifespan of the cooling tower. In addition, the use of ozone reduces the cost of water supply as well as environmental benefit and regulatory compliance with respect to discharge of wastewater from blow down.

 

Ozone as a preventative mechanism against corrosion

       Ozone prevents the growth of biopolymers on the surface of metal to inhibit corrosion.

Blue Ozone Box-7 (BOB-7) for 50 RT cooling tower

The BOB-7 is an ozonator that integrates ozone generation system, gas supply system, cooling system, and mixer system into a compact unit. It is designed to treat 50 RT cooling tower. The double quartz ozone generator tubes generate ozone continuously. It is a microprocessor controlled ozonator to be activated for a period of duty operation on the daily regular basis.

 

S-5 for 50-200 RT cooling tower

 The S-5 ozone generator designed to treat 50-200 RT cooling tower. The double quartz ozone generator tubes generate ozone continuously. It is a microprocessor controlled ozonator to be activated for a period of duty operation on the daily regular basis.

 

A-20/A-40 for 200-2,000 RT cooling tower

Each single unit of A-20 and A-40 is capable to treat 200-500 RT and 500-1,000 RT cooling tower, respectively. With special coating ozone generation tubes, A-20/A-40 can operate continuously at ultra high electricity cycle to provide high efficiency and stable ozone production with low energy consumption. Multiple units of A-20 or A-40 are utilized to treat the capacity of cooling tower from 1,000-2,000 RT.

The refrigeration ton is based on the cooling effect of one ton of ice at 32 degree Fahrenheit melting  in 24 hours.

1 RT = 288,000 Btu/day = 12,000 Btu/h = 200 Btu/min

Generally, the water circulation rate, in a cooling tower, is calculated as

1 RT/4.53 kW = 13 LPM = 0.78 m3/h
